Basic Info:
Trough Creek State Park is located along a scenic gorge created as Great Trough Creek. It cuts through the Terrace Mountain and empties into Raystown Lake. This more than 500-acre park is bordered by Rothrock State Forest and Raystown Lake Recreation Area. It offers 12 miles of beautiful hiking trails.
Trails:
The hiking trails at Trough Creek State Park travel along scenic vistas, cool stream hollows, hillsides and ridge tops. There's a popular short hike which crosses a suspension bridge and follows Rhododendron Trail to Rainbow Falls. Then, you climb the steps along the waterfall and hike on to Balanced Rock and return the same way.
Some trails are steep and follow along cliffs with drop-offs. Exercise caution at all times.
